Turn Someday Into Day One

Looking for a Sober Time alternative?

Updated August 2026

One of the two apps here is ours. We've written the other one up the way its own users describe it, because that's more useful to you than our opinion of it.

The short answer

Sober Time counts well, doesn't nag you to upgrade, and has a kinder community than most of the internet. It's a tracker at heart — and at 2am, posting and hoping is a coin flip.

What Sober Time does well

Sober Time

A dependable tracker with a real community

It counts your days, and it counts them well — multiple counters for multiple habits, milestones, and motivation along the way. The community feed is active and kinder than most corners of the internet: people posting their day counts, their rough nights, their wins, and getting real encouragement back. The free version is generous, and it doesn't nag you to upgrade.

Where it may not fit

Sober Time is a tracker at heart. There's no structured daily program pulling you through the first 30 days, and no purpose-built toolkit for the moment the craving hits hard — you can post to the community and hope someone answers, but at 2am that's a coin flip.

It's also entirely for the person quitting. If your husband, wife, or partner is walking this road next to you — checking your eyes, counting your drinks in their head — there's no part of the app that's for them.

2am, specifically

The community is the good part and it's genuinely kind. But look closely at what it asks of you at the worst moment: open the app, write out how bad it is, post it, and wait to see if a stranger is awake. Sometimes someone is. Sometimes nobody is, and you're sitting there having just described the craving in detail to a screen.

Nothing here waits on anyone. The SOS screen works offline and instantly: breathing, grounding, a 2.5-minute exercise that takes the urge up over its peak and out the other side, and six recorded voices that talk you through it out loud so you don't have to read or type a word.

Underneath that, the thing a tracker doesn't have: a structured first thirty days that pulls you through instead of just recording that you got through. Free for fifteen of them, on any of thirteen tracks.

And your husband, wife or partner — the one checking your eyes — gets their own side, private.

Which should you pick?

Pick Sober Time if a solid counter plus a warm community is exactly the shape of support you want, and you'd rather not pay. It's generous and it doesn't push.

Pick this if the hard moments need something that works immediately and offline, or if there's someone beside you doing this too, with nowhere to put it.
