Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your account in Turn Someday Into Day One, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
How to delete it, from inside the app
- Open the app and sign in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom bar.
- Tap Account & Sync.
- Tap Delete my account at the bottom of that panel.
- Enter your password to confirm. The deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
If you would like a copy of your information first, tap Export my data on that same panel before deleting. Once the account is gone there is nothing left to export.
Deleting your data without deleting your account
If you want what you have written gone but want to keep your account and your day count, you do not have to delete the account:
- Open the app and sign in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom, to Danger zone.
- Tap Erase my history, keep my account.
- Confirm. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.
This deletes: every journal entry, your craving and mood logs, your streak history, your activity log, your weekly reports, your lesson progress, your milestone history, your emergency plan, and any letter drafts you saved.
This keeps: your account and sign-in, your day count and lifetime total, your name, your focus areas, your settings, and any lesson packs you built.
You can also delete a single journal entry at any time using the × beside it, without touching anything else.
How to delete it by email
If you cannot get into your account, email turnsomedayintodayone@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, saying whether you want the whole account deleted or only your history erased. Requests are handled within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account is removed from the server:
- Your email address, your name, and your phone number if you added one
- Your password (stored only as an irreversible hash, never as text)
- Your start date, day counts, streaks and milestone history
- Your journal entries, mood check-ins and craving logs
- Your lesson progress and any lesson packs you built
- Your reminders, settings and app-lock PIN
Messages you send to the companion are never stored on the server in the first place, so there is nothing to delete. Only a daily count of how many messages were sent is kept, and that count goes with the account.
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment records. If you ever paid for Pro, the record of that transaction is held by the payment provider — Google Play for purchases made in the Android app, Stripe for purchases made on the website. Tax and accounting law requires these to be retained, normally for seven years. They are held by those companies, not by this app, and they are not linked to your journal or any of the content above.
- Server error logs. Technical error records may briefly contain an account identifier. They are capped and overwritten as new ones arrive, and hold none of your personal content.
Cancelling a subscription is not the same thing

Before you go
If you're leaving because the app wasn't the right fit, no hard feelings — but a couple of things are free and stay free: the 1-minute check-in, and the section written for the person who loves you. And if you're weighing this against other options, we keep an honest comparison of recovery apps that lists the others fairly, including where they beat us.
